WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU !!!
Never heard of Linares ? We do not take it personally. We also assume that we're not your first, second or third option... Linares is not a touristic spot and that is precisely why it keeps the essence of a real Spanish, Andalusian town. However, its location is terrific. Our lifestyle will allow you to enjoy the best of Andalusia and Spain during your stay. People in Linares are the friendliest and our staff and students are looking forward to working and learning with you. |

HOUSING
Our advice: book a couple of nights in a hotel and wait till you get here to look for accommodation. Our solid teachers' network of contacts will be very happy to come up with solutions. There are also opportunities to share accommodation with college students (Jaén University has a campus in Linares). If you want to have a look at prices here are some pages: FOOD, COMMODITIES AND COST OF LIFE
Linares is one of the cheapest towns in Spain for food, drink, accommodation and other expenses. It really is a "slow city" that maintains traditional shops for fresh food (fish, meat and vegetables are not a luxury in Linares), clothing and other goods.

Two Language Assistants in Linares
|
What we expect from you
our students
Ages 16 to 75. Most of them study foreign languages to certify their level for university or work reasons. Classes take place in the mornings and, mostly, in the evening (4PM to 9PM). Very motivated students, but a bit shy when it comes to speaking English in front of the class... Levels from absolute beginners to advanced and proficiency levels (A1 to C1). In this video, some adult students of English introduce themselves and give you some good reasons to come to Linares. our teachers
In a faculty of 14, there are 8 to 9 English teachers, 2 profs de FLE and 2 German teachers. They all have postgraduate degrees in English as a foreing language and/or translation and interpreting. Ages range from 25 to 55, but mostly 30something. You will always co-teach with one of them. You will never be alone in the classroom. your schedule and tasks
You will work 12 hours a week from Monday to Thursday. Language Assistants are a precious resource for our students and they are sourly missed when we do not have one. We expect you to act as cultural ambassadors (current culture) and to activate our students oral skills and self-confidence. Games, role-play, presentations, cultural activities and conversation workshops will occupy most of your time. Team work with the rest of the faculty is essential and we will provide with all the materials and resources that you may need. |
